ME: 30. What was your first text produced?

Posted Children of the O . Thank you to leave your comments on the main blog.

30. What was your first text produced?

Uh ... so ... successful completion? The Blood of Mirrors. It is a novel general literature that I wrote the year of my 18 years (that date). From time to time, like once a year I tell myself that I would have to redraft because it has a lot of potential (more than the Children of O, if one thinks of a publication ). The main problem is that it is so bad in terms of style that would rewrite virtually everything, and I fear that the text loses its "flavor & # 8221; is the story of a girl of 14 years, and I think I at the time the ability to be close to my hero, I would not have capacity right now.

Then of course there were the children of O. All the different versions of Volume 1, just as rotten as each other, until the current version, which satisfies me almost.

29. Beta-do you read? If yes, does this influence it the way you write? If no, why?

Yes, I'm beta-reader for several friends. After, I am also Corrective, I think I can count that too in the beta-reading. I love to do beta-reading, already because when I read a text I can not help but want to comment and correct mistakes and that beta-reading makes this possible, especially because the errors noted, the tics of writing, red phrases in others makes me more conscious of my own fault for writing. I also need to read attention with something other than my own novel, just to stretch my mind a bit.

I think the beta readings affect the way I write as much as my reading, if not more.

Reveal the result fields in Word

Posted Children of the O . Thank you to leave your comments on the main blog.

Yes, I know that coming out of nowhere a little ... But that's four times that I spend 15 minutes on google to find how to switch between Word's field codes and their results, I told myself I was going to answer in a safe place where I was sure to find the answer quickly.

So if you suddenly {PAGE} appears instead of your page numbers (or any other field of {} instead of what you expect), it suffices to alt + F9, and everything returns to normal! Well, you can also alt + F9 just to watch the field codes, but I confess I do not see the utility (well, I guess there are one, otherwise the designers would not have bothered to create this feature).

For more info, a list of all shortcuts in Word, including those related fields.

Well, worse than done as far as this entry used to something, if you have any cool tips and tricks to share about Word, you can post as a comment!

28. Do you mean what you write to your relatives and friends not write ?

Yes, sometimes. In general, it inflates, because they do not read what I wrote and obviously do not understand anything. But there are some people I can talk about my novel, I try not to abuse it too! That said, almost all my friends write, so it's easier (but I do not talk about my novel that some of them). My (family, so) do not read what I write and so much the better. I do not want to traumatize them for life. In addition, it does not interest the masses.

ME: 27. Have you ever participated a NaNoWriMo (www.nanowrimo.org)?

Posted Children of the O . Thank you to leave your comments on the main blog.

27. Have you ever participated in NaNoWriMo ( www.nanowrimo.org )?

Yes. Several times. In 2005, 2008 and 2009. I managed every time (well, I am not too wet, the times I thought could not succeed, I just did not participate). This year I almost did, but I had no idea so much for my Volume 8 (it has released since) that I could not see myself moving in my story.

I really like the Nano. It is a discipline (for those who do not know, this is to write 50,000 words in 30 days, which is about 1670 words per day) and somebody one like me, fine. I'm the kind of person who does everything at the last minute, and if I do not feel obligated in some way or another to do something, most of the time I do not do it .

On my first Nano, I wrote the first volume Children of O (not entirely, of course. I think I wrote 65,000 words, or something like that, and I finished mid-December). And the two following Nanos helped me move forward.

I know there's a whole community around the Nano, rallies, challenges, etc.. But I'm pretty lonely, so I stay in my corner, but see all the other enthusiasts around me motivates me a lot.

I've always done more than 50,000 words, for me to challenge. Because the 1670 words, I ran and I had to whenever a good lead, so I put on a higher wordcount history does not rest on my laurels and then lose all this beforehand. Last year, there are two or three psychopaths who wrote a million words (it's almost the entire cycle 1 Children of O), my maximum was 90 000 words, if I remember correctly, and I really, really worked hard.

We continue in chronological order to translate for you all the press about Gregory for the year 2004-2007 , and another article was an interview with Gregory magazine Like Hit , made in October 2004: Grégory: "Ma copine me manque " - Gregory: "I miss my girl»

October 2004, Like Hit

Gregory: "I miss my girl»

Greg - a favorite candidate many ... He is courageous, likeable guy and delivers excellent performance - there is every chance that he will go far. We interviewed him backstage one from Prime, and he greeted us with a smile and a big surprise from this amount of attention to the person. Read his candid answers to our questions.

- What surprised you most in the Castle?
- Perhaps what surprised me the most, so that the fact that in reality everything is much room smaller than it looks on TV. Just incredible.

- What do you think, what are your strengths will help you stay on the project as soon as possible longer?
- Maybe my sensitivity and generosity. When I sing, I try to fully convey all that this song makes me feel. With vocal point of view, my voice is not bad, but I need to progress all the time and constantly work on it with Isabelle Charles. In terms of theatrical skill to me too More study and learn. As for the choreography, here I really do what I can, but I especially difficult given.

- You've already managed to show that very work hard, a real workaholic ...
- I have a workaholic. Do nothing, I am, and most importantly - it is be yourself.

- What do you think the fact that you're such a nice guy, helps you to conquer the people?
- very difficult for me to answer questions of this kind, because I am not very sure themselves. I prefer to be a sincere guy, but not likable guy. And if it wins, then yes, I agree.

- You're a victim of fashion?
- Sometimes yes, sometimes no. I can to dress fashionably, while I can quite routinely. I do not chase for any particular style. I simply can not wear a baseball cap backwards or tie on head bandana. So I can not say that I prefer only one of some type of clothing - it's the same thing with music. I can sing and R'n'B and rock - I try not to put a no frames.

- How much time do you spend in front of a mirror?
- For me the most horrible torture - it's hair. Every time I minutes twenty spend in the bathroom, trying to comb your hair. That to me just like a job.

- Do you like the jacuzzi?
- Yes, it's a good thing, but I rarely go there because it is still a hotbed of infection, and I have to be careful. But, of course, this is a very nice thing at the Castle, and it helps people know each other better and get closer ... Well, at least call it so! (Laughs)

- What are your impressions of the concert, Jeremy?
- I really enjoyed it. Not quite my style, but I have great respect for the way that he passed. He has not won Star Ak, but he fought for his songs, he never for a moment give up. This is something that can serve as an example to us. Jeremie able to demonstrate the rigidity and even anger in a good, sporting sense of the word - and I like it.

- Love at a distance - how do you manage to survive?
- I'm all right in this regard. Of course, I miss my girlfriend. But I know how to disengage, I know that sooner or later, we still see each other again.

- When you appear on the streets after the prime, a lot of fans chanting your name. What are your impressions of this?
- It is nice, I'm happy to hear his name. But I'm not going to rest on their laurels, these things never vskruzhat my head. I know what life is. Some kind of momentary flash of attention to my person will not make me pick up the stellar illness and stay there. I want each time to make twice the effort to constantly progress - in fact everything can change very quickly.

- What your girl refers to your popularity?
- Of course, sometimes it's a bit jealous. But when fans scream my name, she feels the same way that my mom or my dad - the pride for me. In any case, she knows that I I will not throw the first available skirt.

And although he has no access to the press, he would certainly have realized that the interview had taken more frequently than others. But Greg refuses to favorite status: «I am very surprised at such a heightened attention to themselves. I have very often asked to give an interview. And I will not hide the fact that it's nice to me, but I do not do this no global conclusions about their future on the project ».

26. On average, how many times are you coming back on a text to correct?

Hard to say! Not much compared to some, but due to my writing. For chapters of the Children of the O (hence the chapters placed on the site, not the chapters planned for version sent possibly to publishers, for which I will do a little effort), I spent three times over. Once the reading of the entire volume, once the replay after replay in my beta-readers (you still following?), And once before putting it online, so years later.

For the news, when I wrote, I think I spent more than five times on each text.

I return to my sentences. I can not help it. If the inspiration is there, it's not going to block for five seconds will it take me to transfer a repeat either. In fact, as I 'm super careful with my words in writing (which I write is thus rather slowly compared to some), I do not lose this automatic even in full inspiration.

ME: 21. Are you the kind of an idea, writing, and provide the script path, or any

Posted Children of the O . Thank you to leave your comments on the main blog.

21. Are you the kind of an idea, writing, and provide the script path, or to plan everything before you start writing, even if eventually you have to divert your synopsis?

Ahah! THE question! Well the answer will be simple: I go on an adventure without really knowing where I go, and let the script take shape on the road. By cons, when I at the end of Volume or that I really hangs on a chapter, I ask myself with a paper and I list the scenes to write (not to forget history or to help me see the chapter). This is not really a plan, but that's what it looks like the most. Now I have made plans, I never followed, and I sometimes still do, just for the pleasure of not following them (no, but I'm not on purpose, eh!). For me to go exploring is the whole point of writing. If I planned everything, everything was planning, I could no longer enjoy writing and I would lose my motivation.

That said, I do not recommend my method: nothing like it to be a novel messy, complicated with a great story that goes in all directions. But hey, the writers of Lost have come to the end of their series (for better or worse ... rather harm than good, in my opinion), all hope is not lost on me.

20. Is your reading influenced your style of writing?

Yes, definitely! Not consciously, but having read a lot, and in various styles, allows me to improve my own style. Finally, this is what I think ^ ^ Sometimes I flashed on a sentence either, in one way or another to get a scene description. As I have no memory, I do not remember that thirty seconds, but my brain is less stupid and should burn it in a corner somewhere.

Also, the fact to correct other authors makes me aware of my writing tics, and I discover new styles (it's there when I correct, because I do a lot more attention to style ). Anyway, I heard several authors who claimed "never read" and I do not know how they do. While the past five years, I read a lot less than when I was younger (I devoured two to three novels a week, and not small), while the literary baggage that I have accumulated over All these years I must have.

Christmas gifts for relatives Gregory

Dear gregoryantsy!

In today's post we would like would sum up our traditional Christmas campaign - namely, prepare gifts for family, Gregory and his family. Within two months, we collectively discussed, devised, prepared and decorations for these Christmas gifts online ( here ). And now we are pleased to announce that all conceived gifts were we have successfully implemented on time and sent to France , to please our beloved family in these winter holidays.

As you all well know any one year does not do us no creative gift for family Lemarshal - a gift that gregoryantsy either invent or create their hands. This year we stayed on the original idea of making those close to hand Greg a big book of creativity and messages with which we could would give them a piece of our love, warmth and respect, as well as tell the story of Russian gregoryantsev and show snippets of our creativity.

This remarkable book, of course, required a lot of work - first organization, then the preparations, and then work on the most "establishment" book - and it was, believe me, a very laborious process, which was attended by all gregoryantsy who visited December 5 our «Meeting of Friends Angela - Creative gatherings » . For more than seven hours all of us together tirelessly worked on the creation of the book - draw, cut, pasted, signed, creating each page, putting it in all its efforts and creativity:). But those gregoryantsy who could not attend the meeting, also contributed to the creation of a gift in helping us select materials, coming up with ideas for the organization of the book itself and its implementation. It's really came the collective creativity of our wonderful forum, and we sincerely tell you thank you very much, because everyone contributed to the creation of a gift something of their own. You can read more information on the preparation of this creative gift and the meeting itself in our forum here in this section . And we would like to tell you of the finished book and show the result of our joint efforts with you.

Our book art «Gregory Lemarchal in Russia» called «The Neverending Story Little Prince in Russia »- L'histoire infinie du Petit Prince en Russi e . The idea of the name, we thank Anna.

start our book with large map of Russia and CIS, which with the help of tiny paper cut out of white and blue balls marked the city, inhabited by Russian-speaking gregoryantsy. We are confident that the family Lemarshal will be very interesting to look at the geographic "scale" gregoryanstva in Russia and CIS countries.

Further, parents can read Gregory Happy New Year and Christmas , co-written gregoryantsami, and marvel at our wonderful Christmas tree with these gifts and snow drifts at the base.

Of course, Gregory, we also could not leave without a message - we selected a few excerpts from letters gregoryantsev to our little prince , and carefully put each piece into a small envelope, a stream of air blown by the higher you go. Angels understand all languages, and especially the language of the heart, so the message for Gregory, we left without translation - as they were written originally.

Then, in our book begins section devoted to the work gregoryantsev . On one page we have combined all our wonderful pictures, associated with Gregory, on the other - poem (translated to Anya), and the third - collages, oboyki and all other works of visual art.

The next section of the book is devoted to the project Greg Academy - we tried a brief, but the bulk form to tell a family Lemarshal everything: write the principles and rules of the game, to provide the participants and to show excerpts of the most brilliant speeches Prime and Ebal (for details on how the game is played Greg Academy you can read on the forum in this section ).

And after Greg Academy, we lit up and our other big project - game-quest GregoAventure , held in Moscow in the autumn of last year (more on the game you can read the article community here ). And also we have made to these two projects drive on which to record a movie on GregoPriklyuchenii and video and audio of the participants, Greg Academy.

«Gregory for us it is ...»
- another section of this book. It consists of many glued to album daisies, and on each petal of each daisy is written one word that characterizes Gregory for Russian gregoryantsev. These words were also collected in the relevant subject on the forum.

Next book tells the story of our activities The project «Gregory Lemarchal in Russia» and Russian gregoryantsev meetings held in various cities of Russia.

A final section called «Our struggle» , and in it we show pictures of our children, patients with cystic fibrosis, and talk about volunteer activities, on research our actions, about the artists who visited our children in the hospital, and much more.

We are confident that our book will be a big surprise for the family Lemarshal and sincerely will appreciate them, because in the work on it a piece of embedded souls of all the Russian gregoryantsev, and friends, Gregory will be very nice to feel our warmth and care.
We once again thank all gregoryantsev taking participation in the creation of the book - for ideas, for inspiration, for printing materials for the "physical" support and presence at the meeting, and we want to say Special thanks to those guys who undertook to assist us in organizing all of this difficult process, and for many weeks with us thought through and discussing all the fine details - Anya, Julia, Kate, Nadia, and Nikita .

And, of course, in addition to creative gifts, we have prepared our traditional Russian surprises on Christmas and New Year, have always admired the family, Gregory and his friends. After long discussions, proposals and voting on Forum won the next set of gifts :

Pierre and Laurence we bought tea and coffee set, decorated by Khokhlov. With this dinner services they can snuggle at home with a cup of coffee and read our book. Moreover, this gift fits well with khokhloma samovar, which we gave them earlier.

Karin this year we bought Pavlov-Posad woolen shawl - it is perfect for her style and her company at parties Russian folk music, which she likes to sometimes attend. In addition to the shawl, we also decided to donate her hand-knitted mittens - in which it hands will always be warm.

Leslie we also gave mittens - they will be useful to her in the mountains of Savoy, and in one of the gloves have invested a surprise - computer mouse, painted in traditional Russian style . We are confident that this mouse is very amused and Leslie will be pleased.

Grenadines receive a gift from Russian gregoryantsev here such set of cute wooden dolls with the names of Russian cities :

A Ojo , as a creative person and the music, We decided to donate disc compilation Russian music and opera performances at the Bolshoi Theater.

We also bought a small gift and the second Olivier - a great friend of the family Lemarshal - in gratitude for the unique and unrepeatable Gregotur which he held for us this year at the Savoy (story about this you can read here ). Olivier we bought traditional hat with earflaps.

hope that very soon we will appreciate the premise of Lemarshal family, Karin, Grenadine, Ojo and Olivier - they always are very pleased to receive word to out of Russia, and our gifts to give them a lot of pleasant moments.

Thanks to all who participated in our New Year's surprise for loved ones, Gregory!

you Merry Christmas!

ME: 19. Can you write anywhere?

Posted Children of the O . Thank you to leave your comments on the main blog.

19. Can you write anywhere?

Everywhere, no. I find it hard to write when I'm driving, for example, in the shower and the computer likes it too. But to be a little more serious, I think I can write almost anywhere. When I'm in my thing, I ignore what is happening around me. Obviously, if a meteorite crashed suddenly to 20 feet away from me, I might be a little disturbed ^ ^ I wrote at work, when there were not too many passengers, or when waiting for the arrival of ; theft. As I worked mostly at night, I sometimes half an hour alone, all alone at the gate with my leaves and my favorite book, and I could fill in several pages. The job I had then, for cons, it was less feasible, it was consistently understaffed and I did not even have time to eat, then write, well ... not. I
can write in the train, it is also my favorite place to write. In the plane too, no problem (except that it breaks-up of having to wait until the plane has finished its climb and not yet started its descent to use the computer). In the car driven by someone else, too. Watching TV too. Outside, at the beach, the doctor, on the bus, at the pool ... and especially in my bed!

ME: 18. When you write, do you listen to music?

Posted Children of the O . Thank you to leave your comments on the main blog.

18. When you write, do you listen to music?

Yes, very often. I also try to choose my music based on mood. When I wrote Blood of Mirrors, murky and depressing novel, listening to a lot the first CD of Mylène Farmer. My impression is that it feels ^ ^
Now, I tend to have more trouble keeping my concentration a decade ago, so I avoid songs "in text" especially in French. I am quite able to put myself to listen to the words and I find myself with scraps of phrases with lyrics inside. So I table about songs in English, the less distracting to me (too bad good, "Baby Please Do not Leave Me / I Want You Back / I Love You Baby / My Baby Left Me" ;, it does not really want to dwell on the lyrics. I may be chauvinistic, but I feel that Americans are struggling to write songs that really mean something profound).
Sometimes, I do not just music, mostly because I do not have my iPod handy, or because I put a playlist and I'm so caught in my text when it ends I do not notice it no more music.
And the train, the music is essential! Because I already pure sick headphones, which were very expensive (but worth every last penny), which almost completely isolate me from outside noise (they are not reducing noise, but their effectiveness is similar), and the TGV there are always kids screaming and who can to play quietly, and their parents seem to really care. So with my headphones, that isolate me alone already not bad, and my music, I'm comfortable in my little cocoon, and I can write in peace.

17. Do you have beta-readers "Record"?

Yes! I have two and a half ^ ^ Ephy , which is my beta-reader "Chief" and done an incredible job of comments and remarks on the chapters (but I keep her corrections to the final version, so they are not taken into account on the chapters posted online. It's not that I don ' ; my readers like it enough, it is quite a bit qu'Ephy behind me level correction. But the quality of corrections is well worth the wait!), Roland, who is also my very good points and I correct some spelling and grammar (while not bad wolf, but he has a knack for finding the ones I missed ME always) and that there was a time, was my Feedback to my intrigue and the reactions of my characters, and Gadriele, which drags a bit at the moment, but when she puts it, did a phenomenal job.
And of course, I adored my readers, who give me their impressions and are the faults I have forgotten (and to my great misfortune, I notice that even when I forget some them. In my defense, it's much harder to correct its own texts as those of others: they were played and replayed so we tend to fly a little, even when one tries to force himself stay focused).
Currently two people have read a cycle in its entirety: Ephy and Roland (OK, and I, of course, but it was pretty obvious).
